The Softening Practice
A small moment to return to yourself.
Place a few drops of oil into your palm and gently warm it between your hands. Bring your hands toward your face and take a slow breath in, allowing the aroma to settle your senses.
With unhurried touch, smooth the oil onto the body — along the neck and décolletage, across the shoulders, along the inner arms, and onto the wrists and pulse points. Allow your hands to move slowly, feeling the warmth of skin beneath your palms.
You may also run a few drops lightly through the ends of your hair, letting the subtle scent move softly with you.
As you apply the oil, allow your breath to deepen and your shoulders to soften. Let the moment become simple and sensory — the warmth of touch, the clarity of the aroma, the feeling of returning to your body.
This is the softening practice: a brief pause to smooth the edges of mind and mood, and settle gently into the present moment.
